VIVAnews -after more than a year since lost contact with the Spirit, the robot explorers on Mars, NASA finally decided to give up. Per 25 May 2011, the space agency had confirmed that they will end the whole plan of communication with the robot.
This step also ensures that the end of the Mission of the robot that has been going on for the last 7 years.
Earlier, NASA hoped that spring is coming soon on the planet that will make your Spirit was able to recharge batteries via solar panels in order to be able to do the radio contacts. However, it seems, the robot it suffered damage which could not be repaired.
As the informed, at the last winter that hit Mars, the Spirit was forced to take the task on the very freezing temperature.
"It seems now we can only see that the Spirit is a small and recalls some explorers success and achievement that had he achieved during his life," said David Lavery, an Executive of NASA, as quoted from Engadget, May 26, 2011.
