PremiumVIVAnews – from early research that is done against a 12 year old daughter who died, indicated that the cause is a very deadly Ebola virus.
According to health workers, as quoted from Physorg, May 16, 2011, the victims came from a city that is in a distance of about 35 kilometers north of Kampala, the largest city and capital of Uganda.
In the early trials conducted by researchers from the Uganda Virus Research Institute showed that the girl who died on 6 may at Bombo, Luweero district, Central Region was indeed caused by Ebola.
"He was taken to hospital and died a few hours later," said Miriam Nanyunja, a doctor who served as Disease Prevention and Control Officer for the World Health Organization in Uganda. "From the visible symptoms, he later tested for Ebola and results that ensure it was out," he said.
Nanyunja mention, health workers are currently searching for the other cases in the region and would create an isolation unit at the hospital in anticipation of Bombo new patients afflicted by Ebola.
Nathan Mugisha, Director General of Health Services Uganda confirm initial research results towards these Ebola. He also mentioned that the task force was set up immediately and attempt to resolve potential remember with Ebola. "When this new early test results that we can but the discussion already held," he said.
As known, a rare bleeding disease whose name is taken from the name of a small river in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has killed 37 people in Western Uganda in 2007 then and at least 170 people in the region North of the country in 2000.
Ebola infectious to humans via its own handling is less appropriate to the animals that died from the virus. While wiping out about 88 percent of the population of chimpanzees in 2003, it is known that chimpanzees by human consumption of meat is quite significant.
