US Airways having computer problems

The carrier said on Twitter that flights have been delayed and that usairways.com is performing “unreliably and in a delayed fashion.”
The Associated Press is reporting that the problems stemmed from a power outage near a data center in Phoenix. The airline wouldn’t say how many people or flights were afffected, the AP reported.
Earlier: US Airways is reporting via Twitter that a system outage is causing problems. The airline asks that customers check their flights before getting to the airport by calling 800-428-4322.
US Airways’ Web site was down shortly, but it appears to be back up.

US Airways tells us a data center power outage at a Phoenix data center has knocked out their airport and web-based computer systems. Some systems are coming back online, but customers should check their flight status before heading to the airport. For flight status, customers should call 800-428-4322. A spokeswoman did not have a timeframe for when the issue might be resolved completely.

According to at least one US Airways employee, their corporate email was also inaccessible.

Computer glitch grounds US Airways flights

A computer glitch Friday night snarled the travel plans of US Airways customers, as reports flooded in of flights grounded around the country.
In a statement, the airline said it was experiencing a computer systems outage that affected its website, usairways.com, and the airline's airport computer systems.
The Tempe, Ariz-based carrier cited a power outage near one of the airline's data centers in Phoenix as a possible cause.
By 8:45 p.m., some airport computer systems were coming back online, "and we are working to restore operational order," the airline said.
US Airways officials couldn't immediately say how many flights or passengers were affected.
Airline spokeswoman Tina Swail didn't have any information on when the outage occurred or what caused it or when the problem would be completely resolved.
Officials at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport say the power outage happened mid-afternoon, and passengers couldn't make reservations, check in online, change their flights or check flight status.
Customers were encouraged to check their flight status before arriving at an airport by calling US Airways reservations at 800-428-4322.
