Ruin in Coal
To achieve this sculpture, I use coal, the first tool that can be achieved drawings, material itself (actually chosen) with which our ancestors were able to make their representations. This is the pencil itself if you will. I play with the problem of the fictitious space and real space in the object (artifact ephemeral) which constitutes the "true representation".
In reference to the cartoon "The King and the Mockingbird" by Paul Grimault, the image of the castle (fairy tale) was transformed into the image of a ruin shown here in a remnant construction emerging from a pile of coal.
