A Letter to My Mom

Dear Mom,

Today is your 50th Birthdays

I know I have promised u to not ever give any surprise

Well, I break up the promise

Sorry :)

(hope u like the cake we sent to your school)

As u said last night

Sometime we should take a time to flash back what we have done

So that we can be more grateful with this amazing life

...

When I was a kid, I used to get fell

And you will kiss the place to make it well

You will hug me and say: "every time I get fell, I will be stronger"

...

Having four children is obviously not easy

Especially when it comes to food

I remember

Anytime you see there are only four pieces of pie for five people,

promptly you announces that you never did care for pie

Yeahh you always do that until now

...

You were also so exciting when I went to France

You told me that I should go to the top of Eiffel to see Paris City in 360 degree

You had been once so sad when I couldn't go to Germany

When I asked why

U said

"Because I see the world through your eyes"

...

But what I remember most is your pray

People always asked me how I could get in to Universitas Indonesia

They seek for the hints

Hmm then I said

"Before the test day, my teacher in LIA told me that she get passed a very difficult exam by asking her mom to do fasting on her exam day. Then I told my Mom about this incredible story. She got inspired. On the test day, she did the fasting. Moreover, she did Duha pray, dzikir, and reading Al-Qur'an. She never stop doing that, until I finally arrived at home.."

Yes, my secret to success is your pray

And that what I remember most from you

Your prayers which have always followed me

They have clung to me all my life

...

Hai Mom

Thanks for being my frienemy

(my friend and enemy at the same time)

I know I have been so hard to you

I am sorry

I never meet someone else who has a great heart like u have

(because u keep apologizing me to what I have done)

Thanks for helping me to become a better person

I learn a lot from your kindness, patience, determination, strength, and toughness

You are the coolest mom ever!!

Really

...

U ever said to me that one by one we might be separated

We might get a job which urges us to stay abroad

Or in another case

We will meet someone, get married, move out, and have children

Well, there's an Irish proverb said:

A man loves his sweetheart the most, his wife the best, but his mother the longest

...

On this half of century birthday

I would like u to know

That I always and always and always love you

This might be the only thing that I could give back to u to meet all the greatest things u have done to me

Well it is beyond the highest-salary ever in the world!!!
