Since I got my floathome, I feel obliged to spend any extra monies I have on renovation supplies. This is a good thing but not quite as satisfying as finding a good deal at the thrift store on pretty stuff. The other day , I couldn't take it anymore and needed a fix of thrift store treasure hunting. Here are my finds of the week

Another serving dish for my growing collection of dishes.

I seriously love this dish set. The design on the edge is raised and the colour is a beautiful butter yellow
I found this sweet plate stand to display them
 Another colourful party serving dish
Interesting story behind this set. I found the bowls in one store and spent quite a bit of time contemplating buying them but as it was only the bowls, I decided not to. Later that day, I went in another store across town and they had the plates! I took that as a sign from the universe that they were meant for me, so bought them then had to hustle back to the other store to get the bowls. They are a lovely soft sage green that will look good in my new sage green accent kitchen.
I also found this green rug for in front of the sink, its got lovely thick plush to sink my toes into while washing up.
Some shabby chic fruit for display, love the crackly paint finish on them!

I love anything Buddha, the hands are great but I especially love the candles which are shaped as lotus flowers.
 A lovely wall sconce
A very cute set of small blue asian themed plates
and a cute set of small asian bowls ( don't know if these are old but they have a more authentic looking design than the usual dollar store version)
 I love them together

A beautiful soft green ceramic bottle with asian writing

and last but not least, my find of the day was these wonderful Christmas ornaments. There were 14 of them altogether for the paltry price of 2.99 for all. I LOVE the hand painted faces.

Total spent......under 20 dollars.....how good it made me feel.......priceless

Happy Thrifting,

Another spectacular day of thrift store finds last week.

A cute set of metal canisters
An old fashioned pastry rolling pin. You fill the insides with cold water which is supposed to help keep it from sticking to the dough.
Its hard to see in this picture, but this is an indonesian curtain rod/fabric holder. I have 3 more in storage of various lengths for the asian themed room I want to have.

I love baskets and containers that have wood and weaving combined.

I am still collecting dishware and found this wonderful soup tureen that can be plugged in to stay warm
Must of been ocean theme day as I found all kinds of dishes with a seafood theme
I grabbed this lemon meringue pie plate. That was my favorite growing up. I always got my mom to make me lemon meringue pie for my birthday instead of cake. I can't wait to try this recipe as it sounds like it might be as good as Mom's!
I spotted this strange thing that I couldn't resist getting
When I got it home, I realized it was a wall shelf meant to face this way. I think I like it better the other way
I also found this cute planter box
These sweet sounding chimes
and this almost cheesy flower holder
I couldn't believe this gorgeous find, a seriously cute letter box
and last but not least, my find of the day, this wonderful statue that will stand watch over my library

Yes, I haven't stopped shopping, I  just worked so much last week, I couldn't get out to the shops. I made up for it this week though. I bought so much, I'll have to divide it into two posts.

My first juicy find of the day was this over- the- top ornate candle holder. It was only $3.50! I seem to be collecting quite a bit of brass and gold coloured things lately. It's not really my favorite look or colour.I will wait until I am settled into a proper home and then decide whether to keep them the same or paint them to match my decor.

Next up is these gorgeous tiny lampshades made to fit over small pointy bulbs. I got two of these at $1.50 each.
Then I got some stuff for the garden, this wonderful metal plant stand
this cute little watering can for getting into small areas
these cute silver cups and saucers which I want to turn into planters for the windowsill
I can't resist anything with hearts on it!
This silver rack weighs a ton, I thought it would make a handy container in the bathroom for storing rolled up facecloths
This wonderful shelf was only $2.50 I think it will go perfectly under the candlabra up top
I grabbed a bag of old teaspoons for 9 dollars so I can work on creating some silverware jewlery like I was talking about in this post on how to recycle silverware into art.
I seem to be attracted to cherubs lately and found this one to join the others
and this one in the center is new as well

Well thats it for today, stop by next week and I'll show you the rest of the haul.

Happy thrifting!
